As a versatile writer and comedian with experience in copywriting, screenwriting, and live event production, I excel at crafting engaging content that fosters community. My expertise spans agency copywriting, freelance contracts, TV sitcom scriptwriting, Radio/TV advertising, digital asset creation, website copy, blog writing, and SEO optimization. Since 2022, I've honed my skills in AI prompt writing to optimize creativity. My most recent cont, ract involves writing fiction podcast content for Pocket.FM and my last agency role was with BBDO, where I created digital assets for brands such as Amazon Music, The Home Depot and Pedigree.

I spent the first half of my career as a pop-culture writer and radio host, interviewing bands live on-air at WRLR in the Chicago suburbs. After exploring food and book reviewing, I wrote copy for The Meatloaf Bakery's cookbook, managed their food truck launch, and represented the business in the Illinois Food Truck Association. This led me to content creation, event planning, and website management for local businesses.

Soon after, I became a production assistant for a show on JBTV and eventually moved to Atlanta, where I wrote on the weekly news satire show Good Evening, Tonight. In 2016 I started my business, Windy Peach Comedy, where I teach comedy writing, produce events like my fundraiser, Reproductive Bitsand support other creatives with my production and creative skills. In 2018 I partnered with the national live event brand Don't Tell Comedy, collaborating on marketing and producing 68 shows in 52 locations across Atlanta, generating $150K of revenue growth from 2018 to 2022, with $20K growth in my first year.

Between these experiences, I have produced 1500+ live events and coached 180+ students through their comedy journey with my writing courses. During this time, I also created my monthly show, Sam Gordon Vs., which included live interviews, games, and prerecorded sketch comedy. In 2021 I joined the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) for my work on the scripted series, Stay-at-Home-Mom.

Helping good ideas flourish brings me immense joy, and I invite you to read past students and collaborators' reviews on my website. I am often praised for my engaging approach, natural leadership, and empathetic communication abilities, qualities that have been enhanced by my early life experience as a nanny and server.

Testimonials

I’m a video producer that worked with Sam on a series of video sketches that she wrote and starred in. Not only is Sam incredibly creative and funny, she’s one of the most professional and well-prepared comics I’ve ever worked with. Writes tightly written scripts, ingenious props, always arriving early and ready on set. Great collaborator. She will make any project better, hilarious, and her positive attitude and professional demeanor on set is contagious. Sam rocks.
— Bill Worley
Atlanta based Stand-Up and consummate creative professional. She runs a theatre + comedy collective, is a terrific creative mind, and writes like her life depends on it (which it does, because that’s how she makes money). She’s fun as heck, funny as hell, and professional as Hades. I wish everyone I worked with was as simultaneously collaborative and shit-together-having as Sam.
— Brad Einstein, Tree Huggers Comedy
Sam has a well-honed comedic sensibility and she uses it to help people develop their own comedic voice. Sam’s class environment is supportive and fosters a fun yet serious pace. She helps you put the pieces together in a way you understand and can build upon. I’ve worked with Sam in different settings and she is the same; supportive, funny as hell and always pushing for the best version you can put out. Her attention to detail and communication skills make working with her and learning from rewarding. Take a class with her now so you can brag about it when she’s on HBOMax or records her Netflix Special.
— Elizabeth Grofic
I took Sam’s stand-up class last year and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. She does a fantastic job of really getting the best out of you and provides a great environment for everyone to grow. 10/10, would not be able to tell jokes the way I do now if it wasn’t for her!
— Jimmy Patel
I keep signing up for comedy classes, feeling like an eternal beginner, but what I really need is that feedback, accountability and encouragement when I get in my head. Working with Sam was perfect! She knows her stuff and I wrote my first spec with the help of her class , but the real value lies comes from the great conversations we’ve had whenever I needed a sounding board for a script idea or feedback on a joke.
— Casey Black
Seriously CAN NOT say enough good things about Sam as a teacher. I took her class at the end of 2019 at the same time I was starting stand-up. The way she helped me shape my first sets and material made all the difference in the world. From a theoretical joke structure standpoint, she was able to break down why things worked and didn’t work. She was also able to quickly fire off suggestions of new ways to take a bit, or give writing and brainstorming prompts on other aspects that I might want to think about more to generate new ideas. I’ve continued to work with her since then, and I’m always so impressed by how quick her brain works and how she always has some kind of feedback that ultimately put me on a path to upgrading my material to higher qualities that I never could’ve done on my own. A lot of times people will talk about how silly or pointless it is to have a teacher in comedy, and while I agree it’s true for some teachers, Sam is for sure the exception to that. I’m gonna continue working with her as much as possible, and if you’re reading this and considering a teacher at all, SAM IS THE BEST!
— Adam Scott
I took a class with Sam, and have also participated in multiple events she has produced and hosted.
Even though our stand-up class was small (approximately seven students), the group consisted of a wide breadth of backgrounds, points-of-view, prior comedy experience, comedic styles, and reasons for taking the class. Despite our variance, Sam was able to cater the class towards each individual, cultivating growth and passion, while also creating a cohesive group identity with a “come as you are” sense of inclusivity. It was a treat to grow alongside my classmates as Sam guided us through the fundamentals accompanied with honest, constructive, and supportive feedback.

Sam teaching comedy is like watching a great chef: she understands the craft so well that she can make even complex concepts easy to understand- the way great chefs finally made me understand the appeal of red beets.
As a teacher, mentor, and manager, I highly recommend Sam and Windy Peach to anyone interested in a class or looking for someone to collaborate with.
— Ian Goldsmith
I have never worked with someone who understands character better than Sam. I took a spec writing class with her and her depth of knowledge and adaptability to the different learning and comedy styles of the students was mesmerizing.
10/10 would recommend taking any class Sam is teaching.
